Our father ran a civil contracting business for over two decades in Andhra Pradesh. He built roads, drainage systems, and government buildings. He won tenders, managed teams on site, took OD loans from the bank, dealt with retention holdbacks from government departments, and tracked delayed fund releases — all while running the books in a physical register that his accountant visited once a month.

We grew up watching him manage all of this manually. The questions that kept him up at night were not about the quality of his work — they were about numbers he could not see in real time. How much has been released against Contract 3? What interest is accruing on the OD account this month? Is this project actually profitable, or are the releases masking a loss that will only show up at year-end?

He never had answers to those questions while the contract was running. He found out at the end. Sometimes, the answer was not what he expected.

When we studied engineering and later worked in software, we kept returning to that problem. Every accounting tool we looked at was designed for retail shops, service businesses, or corporate finance departments — none of them understood what a fund release was, how retention was calculated, or what a mobilisation advance meant.

We built FINIRIX for our father. We are building it for every contractor who deserves the same financial clarity that large construction firms pay enterprise software vendors ₹15,000 a month to approximate — delivered at a price a mid-market contractor can justify.

No contractor should lose money on a contract they worked hard to win — simply because the numbers were invisible until it was too late.
